From Judgment to Contemplation - the Ego and Narcissism

"Much of what we call judgment is 'narcissistic reaction.' Personal judgment is invariably not clear-headed or high vision. Instead, it’s filled with 'me'—my agenda, my feelings, my offended ego, or my anger." The ego skews truth like a shield deflects an arrow, it tries to protect the vulnerable loving soul, but it only serves to hold power over what approaches us from outside ourself and hide our inner truth. The problem is, it hides the truth from the very one it belongs to - ourself. Love is the only force that can melt the ego's Me-ness.

No one is free when the walls of ego (personal or collective) prevent the illumination of truth. PB

  1. "Hatred and bitterness can never cure the disease of fear; only love can do that. Hatred paralyzes life; love releases it. Hatred confuses life; love harmonizes it. Hatred darkens life; love illumines it." Rev Martin Luther King, Jr.
